Hello World-
I am back, and sober. Good to see you again. Looking forward to getting to know you in a new way! Just returned from my "vacation" at Atchison Valley Hope. Spent 28 days. Cost a bundle of money (thanks Mom and Dad,) but it was worth it. Every penny. Trust me, it wasn't because the food was 5 star though...
I hung my cup yesterday morning (a ceremony where you hang a coffee cup you have decorated - to be picked up after a year of sobriety) and then we left yesterday afternoon, got back to Kansas City, had dinner with the family, and then went to a meeting at 8. I wanted to make sure I got to one on my first day!
Tomorrow we'll be heading to the Keep It Simple group in Overland Park, so that I can pick up my 30 day coin. Can't wait. Hope to see a bunch of Valley Hopers there, too.
I'll be journaling about my recovery here in this online journal, sharing resource and inspiration and hopefully staying in touch with new friends (some of the best folks in the world!) that I met while at Valley Hope. So please tune in when you've got the time and share your feedback in the comments!

Hi girl, I love the web page and your comments. I enjoyed reading the letter to your addiction! I'm not sure if I will make it to your celebration but I will try. I moved into the oxford house yesterday and I love it! It is wonderful to have other sober women to visit with and build a good relationship with. I will keep in touch with you and good luck babe! Just recieved your blog. Love the letter to your addiction. I will read this daily so as to keep the beast at bay for me too. Now that we have the tools and the desire to stay sober we can achive success always remembering to take it easy and one day at a time. I will stay in touch and keep you posted in my recovery as well. You were a great roommate and I appreciate your words to me as I struggled. I attend meetings almost everyday here and love my sponser. She commented on how I have grown and this continues to give me hope. I am finally enjoying my life and for this I am so grateful. Hello Kat,
Hope all is well across the way. I have been doing lots of fun stuff with my kid and husband lately. Sober and Straight really makes a difference and it is really fun. We hiked a trail in MO, went fishing, and we are attempting to teach our two lab puppies, Stick and Haley to go for a walk. My meetings are great here and tomorrow is our girlie meeting (my fav). We usually have a really good meeting and talk about our struggles as well as our joy...I hope all is well for you. Later...cindy g
